Locations in Spokane Area
Spokane has so many beautiful locations to choose from. I have done photos for families and individuals ALL OVER and have collected quite the list. I’m always on the hunt for something new as well. Often times, families will have me come to their private property as well, which I love. I’d love to add the photos of these places too, stay tuned.
Liberty Lake State Park is stunning for photos. Big, open grassy fields, and a lake and mountains in the background? EASY. Lakeside senior photos are a must.
Bear Lake, WA. Big, open grassy areas, lots of pine trees. Lake background, or go right up to the lake. Pretty sidewalks, wood fences, plenty of nature.
Lake Coeur d’Alene, ID. Beautiful beach view. Great option for summer shoots. Wait around til golden hour for some stunning glowy portraits.
Davenport Grand Parking Garage roof. PERFECT open concrete area showcasing downtown Spokane in the best way. Views of city buildings and also Riverfront Park. I love this location in particular for Senior Sessions and individuals, but you couldn’t go wrong with anyone up here. Highly recommend. If there’s an event going on, there is street parking and a couple of corner staircases leading to the roof. Also, if you’re bringing things with you there’s also an elevator located inside the first level that takes you up. Check it out sometime during golden hour. WOW.
Washington Water Power & Riverfront Park, downtown Spokane. There are SO MANY cute areas around these two areas. I just include them together because they’re so close to each other. If you pick these locations, schedule an hour with me so we can walk around and get the full effect. You gotta stop in at the Pavillion for a few photos. They have done a great job reviving this area and it’s so modern and pretty now!
Kendall Yards, WA. This cute little area is adorable and relatively new. It goes right along the north side of the river and offers a beautiful walking path with lots of picturesque areas. The view of downtown from here is pretty amazing.
West Riverside Ave, Spokane, WA. I love this street downtown. Talk about architecture. Lots of cool buildings including Riverside Place and Spokesman Digital building.
I haven’t had the opportunity yet, but would love to use the University District Gateway Bridge in Spokane on the WSU downtown campus.
Mirabu Point Park is a good option if you’re in the Spokane Valley. Tends to be a little more crowded on the weekends, but would be a great pick for a weekday evening in the summer! It has river, woods, trails, park and waterfall. Turtles sun themselves on the rocks in front of the waterfall when it’s warm. So cute :)
Manito Park. An obvious choice for incredible landscapes and stunning seasonal flower displays. I actually did a senior session in the Japanese gardens once not realizing it was illegal :/ Oops. It turned out super cute, so I was happy about the photos, but haven’t tried to do another one in there since. Gotta get a permit next time! haha. Also, i’m pretty sure the greenhouse is off limits?? If you know better than me, please let me know, I’d love to have a good greenhouse photo experience.
Rosarium Garden Center in Spokane. I did a Senior Session here last summer and it was so beautiful! My client DID have to pay to reserve the garden for an hour, and I’m so glad she did, totally worth it in my opinion. It was very private and serene, not to mention BEAUTIFUL. The variety in her gallery was immense, so many areas to choose from. If you’re lucky, you may also have some garden kitties in your photos! We were very pleasantly surprised by two very cute kitty cats and made the experience so special :}
Donkey Island Trailhead in Spokane. I just discovered this area thanks to a family I did a photo shoot with last fall. It was basically in my back yard, LOL. So beautiful. The fall colors in the golden hour light, WOW. I will be headed in this direction again soon! There’s really too many areas to cover for a whole family in on hour. I recommend going out ahead of time and picking 2 spots if you’re doing family photos and just doing those two places. If you’re a couple or just an individual, you can get away with a few more spots for sure! There’s quite a bit of walking to do and it eats up most of your time. I would LOVE to buy a large golf cart and just speed things up, but here we are ;) Anyhow, if you get a chance, definitely take a look at this spot and just go for a walk, it’s so peaceful and pretty!!
James T. Slavin Conservation Area in Spokane, WA. I have done a handful of shoots with families here now and it has become one of my GO TO spots in the summer. So easy, so accessible and beautiful. Rolling grassy hills, groups of pine trees for shade, a wood fence and pretty walking trails. Lots of room for kiddos to run and play as well. I love getting those candids of the kids running around. Plenty of room for that!
